The League of American Orchestras, in partnership with American Composers Orchestra, has established a second 30-orchestra consortium, taking place from 2024-2026. Underscoring the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Orchestral Commissions Program’s ongoing successes, the two unprecedented national consortiums have ensured that new works by women composers will be infused in orchestra seasons for years to come, with multiple performances throughout the country.
The consortium will commission six composers — Brittany J. Green, Moni (Jasmine) Guo, Karena Ingram, Chelsea Komschlies, Marina López, and Meilina Tsui — to write works for six lead orchestras. An additional twenty-four additional orchestras will be selected to join the consortium.
