Freedom 2040: The Tommorrow We'll Build is a triumphant and inspirational 4-part chorale inspired by the optimisim and drive of today's youth. This piece invites students to envision life in 2040 and what they hope to see in the future. Freedom 2040 facilitates opportunities for students to develop balance, phrasing, musicality, and syncopation and holds space for conversations about freedom, equity, and social justice. Student voices become a part of the piece through optional narration from ensemble performers throughout the piece.
Freedom 2040: The Tommorrow We'll Build was commissioned with support, in part, by a grant from the Paul R. Judy Center for Innovation and Research at the Eastman School of Music and with additional funding from the Office of Academic Affairs at the Eastman School of Music.
